Dear public land advocates,
The scoping period for the East Saddle Integrated Restoration Project closes on June 12. The Forest Service is proposing a massive thinning and prescribed burning project in the N. Fork, including the commercial logging of hundreds of acres near Cayuse Creek! Please use our action alert to submit a public comment to the agency.
Please consider joining us on June 17 for Wake up with Friends of the Clearwater: A Community Breakfast. A french toast bake, juice and coffee will be provided; $5 suggested donation per person. Information will be provided on Forest Service proposals for the N. Fork Clearwater. Palouse Environmental Sustainability Coalition, Palouse – Great Old Broads for Wilderness and Palouse – Sierra Club are co-sponsors.
Dust off your camping gear for a trip to the N. Fork with FOC and Palouse – Sierra Club on July 21 – 23. This family-friendly outing will feature day hikes, a chili feed and an opportunity to interact with Forest Service staff about the East Saddle proposal and others. Camp one night, or join us for the long weekend!
In between all that action, is the FOC 2017 Summer Benefit Concert with Smokin’ Mojo & Friends on July 8. Hamburgers, veggie burgers, condiments and lemonade will be provided. BYO and bring a supplemental dish too! Party starts at 4:00pm, and will take place at 3600 Highway 8 in Troy.
Call 208-882-9755 for questions about any of the events! And please submit a public comment on the East Saddle Integrated Restoration Project!
Sincerely,
Brett Haverstick
