Dear wildlanders,
The public comment deadline for the Nez Perce-Clearwater National Forests Forest Plan Revision is Friday November 14. To see a copy of the plan click here.
A Forest Plan is a contract with the public that sets the desired conditions or management direction of that particular forest for a decade or longer. Therefore, you have a great opportunity to submit a public comment in the next week. Download our action alert if you like!
So far, the Forest Revision does a disservice to the spectacular wildlands of the Clearwater basin. It falls very short in protecting the remaining 1.5-million acres of roadless lands, as well as bringing protection to old growth forests, fish and wildlife habitat and water quality. The Clearwater basin, or the northern half of the Big Wild, is the least developed remaining watershed complex in the lower 48 and we need to keep it that way!
